We examine text printing depth (Rolex uses a deep, precise print process — not surface printing), the “Swiss Made” marking at 6 o’clock and its position relative to the dial edge, the Chromalight lume plot composition (which should glow blue, not green, on modern references), the alignment of indices, and the surface finishing specific to each model. For the Rolex Datejust black dial, the specific lacquered finish is distinct from aftermarket dials. For the Rolex Submariner and GMT-Master II, the applied hour markers’ proportions and lume fill are highly reference-specific.
